7. Establish governance policies. The action team determines governance

monitoring, rights usage, and so on, the business representatives of
the action team help to drive adoption of the data as a trusted
source.
9. Measure metrics and evangelize. As with an ignored New Year's
resolution, we all acknowledge that this step is very important, but
most of us never follow through. Why? Often it's because of an
exhaustive list of metrics or difficulty gathering the information
after the fact. Pick only a handful of metrics that are easy to collect.
Evangelization is crucial, because that's when success, and therefore
momentum, is created.
Information governance is a business strategy that drives change to pro-
cesses and the people implementing those processes. Big Data certainly has
implications for governance technology, but the governance strategy and
structure that you are accustomed to laying down for relational data are
almost completely transferable to the Big Data era.
