Console, the live data that is flowing on the stream is displayed in a tabular
form that can be filtered and manipulated. Figure 6-11 shows a user selecting
Show Data for the
NewTrendValue
stream. It also shows the live data from
the stream after the user runs through a wizard to configure the attributes
and filters that should be applied. Data in the table can be paused for closer
examination without impacting the running applications; after updates are
resumed, the latest data in the view buffer is displayed. Because you can
quickly see the data elements as they pass by in the stream, it is much easier
to extend and debug applications.
The Up-and-Running Experience:
Getting the Environment Installed and Configured
Clusters can be very challenging to install and configure. Although we can't go
into detail about the Streams installer and
streamtool
command-line tools,
we've invested a lot to ensure that the up-and-running experience is as seam-
less as possible. If you've ever installed and configured a Hadoop cluster from
Apache, and compared that with the Cloudera or BigInsights experience, then
you'll appreciate what we've done here. After a quick and easy installation
program, the user accesses the Streams First Steps configuration tool. This
