their own creativity. The widely understood concept of creativity is the ability to
create something novel. Creativity can be learned, it depends on the knowledge,
experience, motivation, effort and perseverance. Fig. 4 shows the relationship
between knowledge, natural creativity, creative efficiency and their change in
accordance with time of life.
In contrast to the factors conducive to creativity we can include:
•
Openness, tolerance,
•
Ability to accepting criticism,
•
Willingness to risk and action,
•
Curiosity and initiative,
•
Flexibility and originality in action,
•
Awareness of their own thought processes.
Bearing in mind the factors necessary to distinguish many methods available for
the development of creativity and the search for innovative breakthroughs. There are
many tools and methodologies to support creativity [10, 15-17]. The most popular
are:
•
TRIZ (theory which are derived from tools such as ARIZ or TRIZ contradiction
matrix);
•
Creative Problem Solving Process (CPS) (complex strategy, also known as
Osborn-Parnes-process);
•
Lateral thinking process, of Edward de Bono;
•
Six Thinking Hats of Edward de Bono;
•
Herrmann Method- right brain / left brain;
•
Brainstorming and Brainwriting;
•
Think outside the box;
•
Business war games, for the resolution of competitive problems;
•
SWOT analysis;
•
The method USIT of convergent creativity;
•
Thought experiment;
•
Five Ws;
•
Coaching.
The project activities developing creativity can also be achieved through the
inspiration nature. Fig. 5 shows the source of inspiration in the design concept and
design inspired by sports seat. This is the one of unexpected result of the CD project
that occurs during designing the HPT. One of the student by searching for the source
of inspiration for the main idea found an inspiration in maple leaf. It may be noted
that the shape of a maple leaf, which is a source of inspiration in the design phase and
seek solutions, has allowed to obtain a solution to the car seat perfectly shaped like a
maple leaf.
