WebPager allows to access Labview prepared front panel from a browser with-
out any modifications in the Labview block diagram.
WebPager is similar to remote panels but puts front panel into the web-page
as a pure HTML (hypertext markup language) interface [14].
Any browser plugins or Labview run-time engines are not required. WebPager
keeps quasi real-time control over front panel via Internet from any browser-
enabled device and operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, etc).
WebPager is equipped with application programming interface (API) that allows
to create additional programs. WebPager can integrate Labview front panel and
external HTML code making it possible to use any kind of web technologies,
thus allowing having flexible user interfaces (impossible in Labview) [14].
During the tests, there were problems with communication. In the browser
window there were missing blocks and the time for connection have been ex-
ceeded. The reason for that could be the used demo version of the applet.
In the application by means of the remote panel it is possible to change in-
dividual robot parameters. The parameters are changed by changing the value
of appropriate group variable (robot system variables) in robot control system.
By changing individual robot group variables it is possible to move and con-
trol robot axes. In future works more intuitive interface will be designed and
implemented.
Setting individual bits were done by means of the Labview Index Array func-
tion. Thanks to the function it was possible to isolate individual bits from 16
bit variable. Individual bits value assignments make it allow to precisely control
robot group variable.
Alternative solution (to the applets under Labview) are applications such
as Remote Panel Apps. One of this type apps is TeamViewer (Fig. 5), which
provides a direct Internet link to the desktop client. It is fully interactive, so one
can open folders or own programs.
The Teamviewer program is easy to use and works bilaterally providing feed-
back to users. In the tested implementation, the PC unit was a controlled device
and a tablet computer was a controller. A small change in the connection prop-
erties can cause conversion of device functions. It is also possible to transfer files
between connected stations.
The TeamViewer apps are available for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows
Phone, and BlackBerry enable flexibility (Fig. 6). It gives an opportunity to
provide support and connect to the production line, wherever the operator is. It
is possible to control robot remotely, additionally get access to computers and
servers. It is also possible to use Wake-on-LAN function allowing to start the
shut downed devices [13].
The use of TeamViewer to the remote robot control was effective. No barrier
with regard to the distance between stations is another advantage. The ability to
correct or change the program without access to a computer gives the operators
a great opportunity and additional functionality.
Another program that could be used to share and provide online program
is the NI Cloud Data Dashboard for Labview. This program is installed as a
