The exercise is continuously monitored by instructors who teach, mentor and evaluate
the decisions made by particular students. Instructors can change scenario-based working
conditions of the devices and introduce operational disturbances (malfunctions, failures,
change of parameters and operational state of machinery) [8]. Basic ship and main
propulsion data implemented for the engine room simulator are shown in table 1.
