Arbor Hills Loop
Popular with families, scout troops, hikers, and geocachers, this trail winds uphill through woods and
blackland prairie culminating in a hilltop view of Plano and its surroundings before looping back to the
trailhead.
Distance: 2.3-mile loop
Approximate hiking time: 1 hour
Difficulty: Easy
Trail surface: Paved path
Best season: Apr through May
Other users: Some cyclists and in-line skaters; mountain bikers typically head for dirt
trails that sprout off the side of the main trail.
Canine compatibility: Leashed dogs permitted

Special considerations: The 1.0-mile loop from the park entrance to the observation
tower typically takes 15 to 20 minutes if you want to time it to take in the view at sun-
rise or sunset.
Finding the trailhead: From Dallas take the Dallas North Tollway to the Parker Road
exit. Turn left onto Parker Road and travel 1 mile. The preserve is on the right, just past
Midway Road at 6701 West Parker Rd. GPS: N33 02.800' / W96 50.907'
