Step 14:
Go ahead and click on the OK button to open the image in Photoshop. Really, all I do at
this point is add some sharpening, so go under the Filter menu, under Sharpen, and choose
Unsharp Mask . For an image like this, I use a reasonably punchy amount of sharpening,
like Amount 120%, Radius 1.0, and Threshold 3. If you want even punchier sharpening, try
Amount 90%, Radius 1.5, and Threshold 0. That'll get 'er done! Other things I might con-
sider doing in Photoshop would be cloning darker wood slats over those areas of the bridge
that still look dry (as shown in the inset, here, where I'm using the Clone Stamp tool [S] to
sample the darker part of the wooden slats, and then I'm cloning those over the dry spots).
Also, there are a few little specks and spots you could choose to get rid of on the rocks,
once again, using the Clone Stamp tool or the Healing Brush (your call). But, outside of
that, this is pretty much what I do to most photos, which isn't all that much, but I think it
has a pretty visible effect for creating a final image.
