Step 12:
Next, let's do some selective dodging (brightening) over some specific areas. Mainly, what
we're going to do is brighten the highlight areas in the plants on the right side, the rocks
right in the foreground, and maybe some ofthe plants onthe left. So,first, click onthe New
radio button at the top of the Adjustment Brush panel (so Camera Raw knows to leave the
burning we just did in place, and start something completely new). Then, drag the Expos-
ure slider over to the right to +1.00. Increase the size of your brush to a medium size (use
the Size slider at the bottom of the panel), and then just click with it once or twice over
areas in the image that already have some highlights (as seen here). Now those areas look
like little beams of light are peeking through the trees and falling on them. I would usually
be a little more subtle with it, but I wanted you to be able to see the effect clearly.
