Step Eight:
If I'm working on an image with lots of detail or texture (and landscape photos usually
have both), I generally want to enhance and bring out that detail and texture, and to do that
I drag the Clarity slider to the right (see page 20 ) . Again, there is no “right” amount to drag
it—it just depends on the picture and how crisp and detailed you want the photo to look. If
you drag it way over to the right, your image may start to look a bit like an HDR image, so
keep an eye on how far you drag (unless you like the HDR look, then in that case, you may
as well crank the Shadows and Contrast sliders way up and go all-in on the look. Other-
wise, just don't drag it too far). Here, I dragged it to the right to +23.
