Step Two:
Here's the original RAW image open in Camera Raw. The first thing I do at this point is
figure out what's wrong with the photo, and the question I ask myself is simple: “What do
I wish were different?” Here, I wish the overall image was brighter (it looks a bit under-
exposed). The image kind of looks “flat,” so I'd like to fix that, and I'd like more detail
overall, but especially in the shadow areas along the right side of the image. I wish the im-
age was more colorful (it sure was when I was standing there), and of course, I wish the
entire image was sharper. So, now I have my list of tweaks I'll need to do to get this image
where I'd like it to be.
