press X to set your Foreground color to black. Get the Brush tool (B) from the Toolbox,
choose a large, soft-edged brush from the Brush Picker up in the Options Bar, and then
paint over those edge areas, so they blend in smoothly with the rest of the image. One last
thing: if the effect seems too intense, you can just lower the Opacity of this layer until it
looks right (here, I lowered it to 95%). Okey dokey—that's it.
