Liquify Is Now Re-Editable (and It Has a Handy Tool!)
I do a lot of portrait retouching (heck, I even wrote a bestselling topic on the topic, but if
you think I'm going to plug my Professional Portrait Retouching Techniques for Photo-
graphers Using Photoshop topic here in this topic, man are you right) Anyway, one feature
oneveryretoucher'swishlistwastheabilitytoapplyLiquifyasasmartobject,sowecould
edit or undo our Liquify retouches anytime. This is now available in the Creative Cloud
version of Photoshop. What wasn't on our radar was the handy Smooth tool, which helps
hide our Liquify retouches.
Step One:
To use Liquify as a smart object, start by converting your image layer into a smart object
layer (either go under the Filter menu and choose Convert for Smart Filters , or go to the
Layers panel, Right-click on the Background layer, and choose Convert to Smart Object ,
as shown here).
