A Quick Tour of the HDR Pro Dialog
We combine our bracketed shots into one single HDR image in the Merge to HDR Pro
dialog (seen below), and I thought to get us started I'd just quickly take you through what
each section does(andwhich sliders youcan pretty much ignore). Don'tlet all those sliders
and stuff intimidate you—this is actually pretty easy stuff. Also, even though this combines
our bracketed images into one image, we always do some finishing work in Camera Raw
after the fact, which is one reason we ignore some of the lesser-powered, but same-named,
sliders here.
Presets and Ghosting:
At the top right at the dialog, there's a Preset pop-up menu, and you might be tempted to
choose one of those presets until you actually try a few (yes, they're that bad). Right under
that is the Remove Ghosts checkbox, and you'd only turn this on if you hand-held your
bracketed shots (it tries to remove any ghosted parts of your images caused by movement
when you took the shot. It actually does a remarkably good job, but only turn it on if you
actually see ghosting). Below that, the standard Mode setting is 16-bit (a higher-quality
