To test the validation of the developed algorithm, a pixel to pixel comparison was done between the
model and the satellite-based TSM maps; at selected in situ measurement locations. These samples
locations were selected for analysis because they are measured on the same date as the available image
for month June (28 th June). The other measured points were taken on 27 th and 29 th June, but
unfortunately the MODIS images acquired on the same dates were covered with intensive cloud and
were not suitable for analysis. Two points (LO12, LO14) were used for the validation of the developed
relation that were not included in the calculation of regression relation. Figure (8-22) shows the
selected pixel locations.
