In-Depth Information
Kauaʻi
Why Go?
On Kauaʻi, the mana (life force) of the ʻaina (land) is palpable, and will hit you when you
least expect it. It could descend as you round a corner and come face to face with one of
her velvety emerald mountain ranges. Or while navigating one of her spectacular trails in-
to an interior blessed with endless rainbows and waterfalls. Or maybe when paddling
down a sinuous red river.
For many, it's a side effect from diving, swimming, paddling or riding world-class
waves in bays deep blue and life-affirming - where you can mingle with dolphins and
whales and contemplate endless Pacific perfection. Yes, on Kauaʻi, your heart and mind
cannot help but open wide. For some, even a short hop will become an extended stay,
which on the flight home may have you debating immediate relocation - if you go home,
that is.
When to Go
Jun-Sep Sunshine abounds; the ocean is calmer, days are longer, sunsets paint-splatter-
ing.
Dec-Mar Whale watching, daily rainbows and sudden rain; don't leave unattended car
windows open!
Apr-May Least crowds and best deals; also numerous festivals.
