$100 to $1500 per night (average $200). An excellent source.
Eating
Foodie sensations have mostly passed by Molokaʻi by. But there are glimmers of change
here, with a few interesting options (including a great place in Kualapuʻu and a fine
lunch counter on the way to the Halawa Valley). But your best bet is to cook for yourself
- the markets in Kaunakakai are well stocked and Molokaʻi has some unique foods.
Getting There & Away
If you have time, taking the ferry from Maui is a more sociable and scenic experience

AIR
Molokaʻi (Hoʻolehua) Airport (MKK; 567-9660; http://hawaii.gov/mkk ; Hoʻolehua) is
small: you claim your baggage on a long bench. Single-engine planes are the norm; sit

Hawaiian Airlines has announced plans to start its own Molokaʻi service.
Island Air ( 800-652-6541; www.islandair.com ) Codeshares with Hawaiian Airlines; flies
planes with two, yes two!, engines.
Mokulele Airlines ( 866-260-7070; www.mokuleleairlines.com ) Partner with go! airlines.
SEA
Molokaʻi Ferry ( 877-500-6284, 667-9266; www.molokaiferry.com ; adult/child one way from
$70/35) runs a morning and late-afternoon ferry between Lahaina on Maui (across from
the Pioneer Inn) and Molokaʻi's Kaunakakai Wharf. The 90-minute crossing through the
Pailolo Channel (aka Pakalolo Channel for all the pot smuggling) can get choppy; in fact,
you can enjoy the thrill of a water park just by sitting on the top deck and getting
