In 2012 the Maui
outpost of chef Roy Yamaguchi's upscale dining empire moved from Kahana to the golf
course clubhouse at the Ka'anapali Resort. Here, big-windowed views of the greens are a
pleasant backdrop for the exquisitely prepared island and regional fare. Savory entrées
include the sashimi-like blackened ahi with Chinese mustard and Yama Mama's meatloaf
with shitake gravy.

Between the water-falls, the swan pond and the tiki
torches, this is Kaʻanapali's most romantic night out. The award-winning cuisine in-
cludes the expected fine-dining steak and lobster, but many appetizers and entrées high-
light the best of Maui, from the kula vegetables to ravioli with Surfing Dairy goat cheese
and the tenderloin with local coffee marinade. Incredible wine list, too.

Live Music
The two places listed here, as well as the Hula Grill & Barefoot Bar, have live music
throughout the afternoon and evening. It's typically Jimmy Buffett-style guitar tunes, but
it's occasionally spiced up with some ukulele strumming.

beach is the place to linger over a cool drink while catching a few rays. It also has a good
