) The Pioneer Inn looks salty and sea-battered on the outside, but step over the threshold
of this historic inn for a pleasant surprise. All of the rooms have undergone a stylish re-
vamp, which includes new flat screen TVs, and the accommodating staff keeps the sail-
ing smooth. Ship figureheads and the saloon's swinging doors give a nod to Lahaina's
whaling past.
To avoid the chatter of mynah birds in Banyan Park as well as noise from the lively
bar, ask for a courtyard room. All rooms are on the second floor, with no elevators.

prints, hardwood floors and a touch of greenery. And there's always the balcony if you
need more space. The 12-room inn is perched above the highly recommended Lahaina

happy that you're visiting. The seven-story property is the only oceanfront condo com-
plex in central Lahaina operated hotel-style with a front desk and full services. The adja-
cent beach is a good place for beginner surfers and a small shopping village next door is
a convenient venue for nighttime entertainment.
