Hawi Gallery MUSIC

11am-3pm Sun) You wouldn't necessarily think that a ukelele store would be a constant
source of fascination, but this is why you come to Hawi. Owner Richard Bodien will
happily take you on a trip through time and space courtesy of his vast collection, includ-
ing the Cuban model made from a cigar box.
And don't miss the curvaceous Polk-a-lay-lee, a rare 1960s promotional item from a
Chicago furniture store. Since you can't do this anywhere else on Earth, take advantage
of it while you can. Don't forget your free guitar pick on exit, and one of the signature
bumper stickers: 'Hawi Nice Day'.
Living Arts Gallery GALLERY

the extraordinary amount of artistic talent nurtured by the Big Island, come here to this
artists co-op. Members staff the gallery, giving you firsthand contact with some of the 65
local artists represented here. Their infectious motto: 'Take heart, make art.'

jewelry, sculptures and models, along with an impressive seashell collection. You will be
surprised to discover they produce much of the jewelry on site. Great for browsing.

gift shop offers an eclectic array of unique crafts, most notably some beautiful hand-
woven African wire baskets, available in limited numbers.
