) Elegant and almost formal (for Hawaiʻi), the Orchid never lets you forget
that you're at an exclusive, luxury hotel. The architecture feels more continental than
overtly Hawaiian, but the meticulously maintained grounds are buoyantly tropical.
Rooms are quite posh, and the spa and restaurants are first-rate, adding to the pampering
quality. Amenities, such as inroom internet access ($14.50 per day), are rather pricey.
Self/valet parking is an additional $17/22 per day.

The fresh ingredients and friendly service often attract repeat customers.

virtually faultless. The service is gracious and the menu is practically a circle-island tour
of the best of Hawaiʻi's local ingredients. Standouts include the Kohala ceviche and
