In-Depth Information
One mile south of the hotel (at the boundary of the overall resort area), there's a small
salt-and-pepper beach at Honokaʻope Bay . When seas are calm, swimming and snorkel-
ing are fine but not fantastic. Walk here by an old coastal trail or drive toward the golf
courses and turn left at Honokaʻope Pl.
Located at the Fairmont Orchid, Pauoa Bay is an excellent, little-known snorkeling
spot, but is accessible to guests of the hotel only.
Holoholokai Beach Park BEACH
MAP
Forget about sand and gentle waves here. Instead enjoy picnicking and strolling at this
pleasantly uncrowded beach, blanketed by chunks of white coral and black lava. On the
calmest days, the waters are fine for snorkeling. Facilities include restrooms, showers,
drinking water, picnic tables and grills.
To get here, take Mauna Lani Dr and veer right at the circle; turn right on the marked
road immediately before the Fairmont Orchid. The Puako petroglyphs are accessed from
the park.
