Getting There & Away
From Honolulu's Ala Moana Center, TheBus 52 runs to Haleʻiwa via Wahiawa once or
twice hourly; the one-way ride from Honolulu takes 1¾ hours. Every hour, TheBus 55
trundles from Haleʻiwa up to Turtle Bay, then down the Windward Coast, taking over
two hours to reach the Ala Moana Center.
NOT LOST AFTER ALL
Does Army Beach look familiar? It appeared in the pilot of the hit TV dramaLost.
WhenLostfirst started filming here, tourists driving along the highway would see
the smoking wreckage of a crashed plane sitting on the beach. Needless to say, a
burned-out jetliner is an alarming site, and many called 911 to mistakenly report an
emergency.
