) Out of sync with the North Shore's beatnik-
surfer vibe, Turtle Bay offers all the modern conveniences of beach resort life. Admit-
tedly dated, every hotel room at least has an ocean view, while deluxe rooms have
private lanai. More romantic options include nearby cottages, where fresh fruit is de-
livered daily, and ocean villas where the water splashes not far from your door.

Panoramic windows with
ocean views are the hallmark of this white-tablecloth dining room. Expect perfectly pre-
pared seafood like braised Kona lobster or pepper-crusted ahi plated with Kahuku corn
fritters and an organic farm salad. There's a discerning global wine list too. Tapas and
cocktails are served in the lounge until 11pm daily except Monday.

With table legs and tiki torches sticking out of the sand, this
cabana stakes out an unparalleled position on the beach. When it's sunny, Ola is an irres-
istible spot for lunch, although the food is far from outstanding. Service is so laid-back,

Surfer Bar
BAR
North Shore musicians occasionally play live sets at the resort's Surfer Bar, where the
stage is set for anything from open-mic nights to surf-film screenings. Happy-hour
coconut margaritas and 'lychee-tinis' are a bargain. For sunset views and live Hawaiian
music some nights, head over to the resort's poolside
Hang Ten Bar & Grill
instead.
