Just over a mile north of the town center,
the bay's biggest waves break onshore, drawing dedicated board surfers and bodysurfers.
Backed by a wide swath of ironwoods, you'll find a thick mane of blond sand for long
walks and ocean ogling. Facilities include picnic tables, BBQ grills, restrooms, outdoor
showers, lifeguards and 10 just-OK, tree-shaded campsites.

Fronting Bellows Air Force Station, this is a long beach with fine sand
bordered by ironwood trees. Small shorebreak waves are good for beginner bodysurfers
and board surfers. The beach is open to civilians only on national holidays and week-
ends. There are lifeguards, outdoor showers, restrooms, drinking water and 50 campsites
nestled among the trees by the beach.
TheBus 57 stops in front of the park entrance road, just north of Waimanalo Bay
Beach Park; from the bus stop, it's a 1.5-mile walk in to the beach.

By the side of the highway, this strip of soft white sand has
little puppy waves that are excellent for swimming. The park has a shady patch of iron-
wood trees and views of Manana (Rabbit) Island and Makapuʻu Point to the south.
Camping is allowed in an open area near the road, but it's uninviting.
Southeast of the town center, the community park also offers a grassy picnic area, chil-
dren's playground, ball courts, drinking water, restrooms, outdoor showers and life-
guards.

LPGA star Michelle Wie got her start and President Obama regularly swings his
clubs here during his vacations on Oʻahu. With a dramatic backdrop of the Koʻolau
Range, two challenging nine-hole courses are played together as a regulation 18-hole,
par-72 course. Facilities include a driving range, a pro shop with club rentals and a res-
taurant.
