Nuʻuanu Pali State Wayside LOOKOUT

miss this ridge-top park's sweeping vistas of windward O'ahu from a height of 1200ft.
From the signposted lookout you can see Kaneʻohe straight ahead, Kailua to the right,
and Mokoliʻi Island and the coastal fishpond at Kualoa to the far left. The funneling
winds are so strong you can lean against them, and it's often cool enough to warrant a
jacket.
A pedestrian-only section of the Old Pali Hwy winds down from the right of the
lookout, ending abruptly at a barrier near the current highway about a mile away. Few
people realize the road is here, let alone venture down it. It's worth walking just five
