day, evening and overnight rates. At the far edge of Waikiki, there's a free parking lot
along Monsarrat Ave beside Kapiʻolani Park with no time limit, while Waikiki's cheapest
metered lot (25¢ per hour, four-hour limit) is off Kapahulu Ave by the zoo; neither of
these public lots is particularly safe for rental cars.
MOPED & MOTORCYCLE
Mopeds may seem like a great way of getting around Waikiki, but they can be more ex-
pensive to rent than a car. Drivers should have previous experience navigating urban
traffic. Independent agencies renting mopeds and motorcycles are scattered all around
Waikiki.

TROLLEY

runs three color-coded lines that connect Waikiki with the
Ala Moana Center and downtown Honolulu. These services don't offer much in the way
of value compared with TheBus, however. Purchase passes at the
DFS Galleria Waikiki
or buy online for less.
