In-Depth Information
Never leave your valuables unattended on the beach. At night, it can be risky to stroll
along the beach or Ala Wai Canal, whether alone or in groups. After dark on Kuhio Ave,
prostitutes aggressively solicit male tourists, while drunk male tourists sometimes harass
women passersby.
Day or night, you won't be able to walk down Kalakaua Ave without encountering
timeshare salespeople, often sitting behind the desk of a so-called 'activity center' ad-
vertising free luau, sunset cruises or $10-per-day car rentals. Caveat emptor.
