A plaque near the sidewalk outside is inscribed with the words to ʻAloha ʻOe,' the
farewell anthem that Liliʻuokalani composed. For tour reservations, call at least two days
in advance and bring photo ID. No large bags or backpacks are allowed inside the house,
where photography is strictly limited.

side the high-rise First Hawaiian Bank headquarters, this tiny gallery curated by the
Honolulu Museum of Art ( Click here ) livens up the briefcase district with changing ex-
hibits of modern and contemporary works, often mixed-media, ceramic or fabric art. The
building itself features an artistic four-story glass wall incorporating 185 prisms. Free
guided gallery tours are given at noon on the first Friday of the month.
Cathedral of St Andrew CHURCH

Mon-Fri, tours 11:50am Sun; ) Dedicated in 1886, this French Gothic cathedral was
King Kamehameha IV's homage to the architecture and faith of the Church of England.
After becoming friends with Queen Victoria, the king and his consort, Queen Emma,
founded the Anglican Church of Hawaii in 1861. Historical tours usually meet by the
pulpit after the 10:30am Sunday worship service; call ahead to confirm.
For a free concert, the largest pipe organ in the Pacific is sonorously played every
Wednesday from 12:15pm until 12:45pm.
FLOWER POWER
Chinatown herbalists are both physicians and pharmacists, with walls full of small
wooden drawers, each filled with a different herb. They'll size you up, feel your
pulse and listen to you describe your ailments before deciding which drawers to
open, mixing herbs and flowers and wrapping them for you to take home and boil
