More of a tavern with a dining room attached, it's not quite as
ele-gant a place to eat as it appears from the roadside, but they do pub grub (nachos,
wings and burgers) as well as local nibbles like
poke
and seared or broiled fish dishes.
Food is decent if not fabulous.

Grab a plantation lunch (which starts
from $9) in a
kaukau
tin full of shrimp tempura, teriyaki and BBQ meat, along with rice
and kimchee. Included in that price is soup and salad. Steaks are good; the fresh fish less
so. Save room for the peach cobbler, which may beckon you back.

Perfect for a rainy day or early evening reprieve from the sun and sea.
Kauaʻi is a bit behind with the new releases, but this is one of two functioning theaters on
the island, so it's much appreciated. It's also historic, which makes it our favorite.
