has been open since the 1940s, but was only recently bought by Kamoa Ukelele, a local
manufacturer. Less expensive models are made in China and start from under $100, but
vintage and high-end ukes made locally from koa wood range from $1000 to $5000.

A charming treasure
chest of 1930s to 1950s collectibles. Everything and anything that may have washed up
on these shores is here, from vintage leather suitcases to glass buoys to all manner of fur-
niture and fixtures - yes, including elaborate candelabras. The owner literally has ware-
houses full of stuff and her shop is a damned fine browse.
