River, it includes reproductions of traditional Hawaiian structures amid thriving gardens
of guava, mango and banana trees. Kamokila also offers outrigger canoe tours , which

ʻOpaekaʻa Falls. The half-mile road leading to the village is steep and narrow.
ʻOpaekaʻa Falls WATERFALL
MAP
While not a showstopper, this 40ft waterfall makes an easy roadside stop, less than 2
miles up Kuamoʻo Rd. For the best photographic conditions, go in the morning. Don't be
tempted to try trailblazing to the falls. The steep, slippery cliffs are perilous and have
caused fatalities. Cross the road for a fantastic shot of the Wailua River.

Powerline Trail MOUNTAIN BIKING
While this trail (which covers 13 miles between Wailua and Princeville) is used mainly
by hunters, it's a decent option for die-hard mountain bikers. Hikers might find the trek
too long, too exposed and, especially toward the north, too monotonous. Beware of steep
drop-offs hidden in the dense foliage. Expect to slog through mud and puddly ruts.
