Free Transform
The Free Transform tool cannot interact directly with the 3D object or the 3D
layer. However, the 3D object needs to be changed into a smart object so
that you can easily edit it:
1. Select a 3D layer in Photoshop.
2. Select Edit > Free Transform or press CTRL + T (CMD + T on the Mac).
3. A warning message appears to tell you that you can not free
transform the current 3D object and that you need to convert it to a
smart object.
4. Click OK to convert the 3D object to a smart object or Smart
Object > Convert to Smart Object from the Layer menu.
5. The Free Transform control appears to let you edit the smart object.
Summary
Working with the 3D models in Photoshop depends on your understanding
of the 3D tools and methods. There are many methods to control your object
via the 3D tools, numerical values, and the 3D-Axis tool, which is the most
eicient and easy-to-use approach. However, this chapter provided details
on each of the available 3D tools and their usage.
