1. Select the object.
2. In the top numerical values for Position, change the Z value to 100 to
move the object in the Z value away from you toward the depth of
the work area. You can change this value to -100 to move it closer
the camera.
3. You can change multiple values to change the position of the object in
the 3D space. For example, change the X value to 100, Y to 50, and Z
to 100.
4. Click the Save icon next to the Position drop-down list to save your
custom position for the object for future use.
3D Slide Tool
The 3D Slide tool slides the 3D object closer to or farther away from the
camera view, depending on the how you drag the object on the screen. You
can also slide the object through two or three dimensions (Figure 5.5) by
applying the tool to the airplane example:
1. Select the Object and choose the 3D Slide tool.
2. Click and drag over the object horizontally to slide the object over the
X axis.
3. Click and drag over the object vertically to slide over the object in the Z
dimension, so the object moves closer to or farther from the
camera view.
4. Click and drag over the object from the top right to the bottom left side
of the screen to move the object over both the X and Z dimensions.
5. Click and drag over the object from the top-left to the bottom-right side
of the screen to move the object over the X and Z dimensions in the
opposite way.
