whose thumbnails take a long time to generate. However, you can
specify a maximum size for iles to get a thumbnail in Bridge.
The Playback section is responsible for the audio and video playback
settings. You can adjust these settings to allow you to preview 3D video
and animation content and audio associated with it. For example, you
can navigate and preview video footage that you can use in a Photoshop
3D project.
The Metadata section lets you conigure the information that will appear
in the Metadata panel. For example, some metadata is not required in
the 3D projects, such as GPS information, so you can remove such
unrelated metadata from the Metadata panel. On the other hand, you
can activate information such as the DICOM ile information, which can
be used to add information for the medical DICOM iles, which we can
use in Photoshop to create a 3D volume of medical scan images (see
Chapter 4).
In the Keyword section, you can set the keywords settings, such as the
Parent Keywords.
The Labels section lets you conigure the label settings so that you can
easily mark a ile or group of iles with a speciic color and associate a
special shortcut with each label.
The File Association section lets you specify the associated program for
each of the ile extensions in Adobe Bridge.
In the Cache section, you can conigure the caching setting that is
responsible for caching information about image thumbnails; better
caching performance produces a better-quality thumbnail preview. These
options can improve your preview process in Bridge.
The Startup Scripts section conigures the scripts that will be loaded
when you open Adobe Bridge. These scripts ensure communication
between Bridge and other Adobe products such as Photoshop. For faster
loading, you can activate only the Photoshop CS5 script to communicate
with Photoshop and exchange iles between both and improve the
loading time for Bridge.
The Advanced section shows other settings such as generating monitor-
size previews.
The Output section lets you set the output ile settings and embedding
color proiles.
Batch Rename
One of the common tasks when exporting a 3D animation into a sequence
of images is renaming it. It is not good practice to rename iles manually or
export the iles again with the new name. Thus, Adobe Bridge allows you to
rename iles through the Batch Rename dialog box, which is a lexible tool to
rename images in sequence, as in the following example.
