Metadata and Keywords Panels
Shortcut: You can view
image in full-screen
mode by selecting the
image, clicking the
spacebar, and turning
on Preview Mode (click
CTRL+B in Windows,
CMD+B on the Mac).
The Metadata and Keywords panels are associated with viewing and
editing the metadata associated with the image iles. The Metadata panel
displays the ile information saved in the ile's XML data, such as the ile
format, creation date, camera information, audio information, video
information, and so on.
The metadata is important in organizing the project, especially when
working with multiple applications. The metadata is important for providing
information about the ile or image, such as the author of the image and the
details of the camera that was used to take the image. Often, you might have
multiple versions of an image and need to determine which image to select
as best for a certain project. Metadata can help you organize your iles.
On the other hand, the metadata is very important in arranging and sorting
iles, as you can sort iles based on author, date created, resolution, color
proile, date modiied, and so on.
When you work with 3D iles, you can create multiple options and formats
for a model before importing it to Photoshop; formats and setting can vary
in the imported results. However, you can use metadata to categorize these
options for easily access for you and the project team as well.
Your usage for metadata and the amount of the data that you need to add
depends on your project and the best way to archive your project iles. It is
good practice to add the basic metadata information, such as author and
camera speciications. In video iles, add information such as tape name and
scene information.
Although the Metadata panel displays a lot of information, you can easily
collapse or expand each type of data. You can directly edit the metadata
