In-Depth Information
by clicking on any of these categories to show only the content that meets
these criteria. You can also choose the criteria that you would like to display
from the Filter panel context menu by toggling the category options.
The Collections panel is a great way to organize your images in speciic
folders. It enables you to create collections; each of these collections can
include images from one folder or diferent folders. However, you can easily
open these iles by choosing a collection. The advantage of the collection
feature is that iles are still located in their original location, so you do not
need to move your iles or create another copy of them that would take up
unnecessary space on your hard drive.
To create a new collection, click the New Collection icon in the bottom right
of the Collections panel. You can also create a Smart Collection, which lets
you choose criteria for the images that will be added to the collection;
Bridge will look for the images that meet these criteria and add them to the
collection. For instance, if you specify that a collection's images should
include iles that are less than 10,000 KB, add these criteria when creating a
new Smart Collection from the New Smart Collection icon in the bottom
of the Collections panel. The new smart collection looks for the images in
the current folder and collects them. Also, when you import images that
meet the smart collection criteria, they are automatically added to a
smart collection.
Content Panel
In the Content panel, you can view iles and thumbnails for images and
video content. When you browse folders, you can view the content of each
folder in the Content panel; only the supported formats will have a preview
thumbnail.
When you click an image or video ile, the image thumbnail or the video
preview appears in the Preview panel in the right side of the Content panel.
You can change the view of the Content panel and the size of the thumbnail
through the bottom bar in Adobe Bridge. The bottom bar includes icons to
provide more control over how to view content (see Figure 3.2).
Note: You can hit the
spacebar in your
keyboard to get a full
screen view of the
images, and you can
navigate between
images using the
arrow keys.
The thumbnail size slider allows you to resize the thumbnail in the
Content panel; click the right icon in the slider or drag the arrow to the
right to increase the thumbnail size or to the left to reduce the thumbnail
size.
By clicking the Lock Thumbnail grid icon, you can display the icons using
grid lines between them.
The View Content as Thumbnail icon displays the thumbnail with the
default view of the content thumbnail arranged together.
The View Content as Details icon shows the content as thumbnail and
next to each one, detailed information about it as well as the color proile
assigned to it.
