You can choose an output preset from the presets list, or you can set a
custom dimension for the output content. It is important to keep the aspect
ratio of the resized content the same as the source animation ile so as to
avoid a distorted aspect ratio for the output. Or you can set the size of the
output image sequence to be the same as the document size by choosing
the Document Size option from the Size Presets drop-down list.
In the following exercise, you will see how to export Photoshop video
animation as a JPG image sequence, optimize the JPG iles' quality, and
prepare the naming of the exported frames:
1. Open the Space_ship.psd ile in Chapter 11 on the DVD.
2. Choose File > Export > Render Video.
3. In the File Options section, select Image Sequence.
4. Choose JPG from the drop-down list and click the Settings button.
5. Set the Image Quality value to 13 to get the highest quality for the
output frames.
6. Set the sequence number. In the Start # value, type 0 to start the count
from zero. In the Digits value, select 2 to have the frames numbered with
two digits.

When you render the video animation as a sequence of images, make sure to
prepare a folder for saving the exported frames, as the huge number of
images that result must be organized. It is also important to have all the
frames in the same naming sequence. This sequence lets other applications
such as Flash, After Efects, and even Photoshop identify that the images are
in sequence. Choosing the best format depends on your usage for the
sequence. For example, if you will use this sequence for web or Flash
animation, JPG would be the best choice, as it provides low ile size and
good quality. On the other hand, if you would like the image sequence to
support transparency, then PNG is the best solution, because it results in
