In-Depth Information
appears to let you set the QuickTime settings. The Video settings consist of
ive main parts:
• Compression type, this section lets you choose the compression type for
the output video from the drop-down list. Choosing the suitable
compression type afects the output video size and quality and depends
on the display media. However, it is always a good practice to type which
compression is the best for your animation. The Video or the animation
compression types always maintain both quality and low size for the
animation output.
The Motion section includes ields for the frame rate and keyframes for
the animation, or you can leave it at Default to use the original animation
frame rate and keyframes.
The Data Rate section sets the data rate of the video. When you select
the Restrict to option, you can specify the output media for your
animation.
The Compress section includes a slider to set the quality of the output
video animation; to set the quality of the output video, drag the slider to
the right to increase the quality or to the left to decrease the quality. The
relation between quality and size is covariant: the higher quality the
video is, the larger it becomes, and vice versa.
The Preview section provides a preview for the output video.
Filters
One of the most useful options when exporting video iles as QuickTime is
the ilter features, which let you add ilters over the whole video animation
while rendering it. The ilters include lens lare, blur efect, color adjustment,
ilm noise, and color tint.
Export Size Setting
This dialog box lets you edit the exported video size. There are a lot of
standard sizes that depend on the output device or media, such as TV, video,
and web, and Photoshop provides a list of preset sizes in the Dimensions
drop-down list. You can also set this to Compressor Native in the drop-down
list to keep the output video ile the same as the original animation in
Photoshop. This option is helpful when you would like to avoid any
compression and have the output video remain as the same size as
the original.
Note: Keep in mind that
resizing the video or
changing its aspect
ratio to something
other than that of the
original may afect the
video quality and cause
distortion, especially
when you try to
increase the video size.
The Custom option lets you specify a new size for the output video, with or
without preserving the aspect ratio of the original video. To save the aspect
ratio, check the Preserve Aspect Ratio checkbox. The is one of the common
options when you would like to export video iles with a diferent size than
the source; this way you can create the source ile with one size and export
the ile to diferent sizes. For example, you can export the video at a size for
mobile devices, and also at a size that is compatible with video on the web,
such as YouTube.
