painting results. Furthermore, it indicates the areas of the model that will be
paintable and how they will be afected with the painting tool.
The Face style renders the object as a 3D illed model. However, you can use
this style along with its various options to output the 3D illed model for your
project. For example, you can use the Unlit option to display only the texture
applied to the model and discard the model polygon; this can help you view
where the texture is warped or applied to the object. Also, you can use the
Constant option to create a solid-color area that represents the model, which
can be used to create a masked area based on the model shape.
Edges Style
The Edges style controls the render options for the edges and wireframe of
the 3D object polygon. Along with the settings (explained shortly), there are
four options that are common to all the rendering options:
• The Remove Backfaces hides the back face edges in two-sided 3D
content.
• Remove Hidden Lines removes the lines that overlap with the
foreground lines.
• Crease Threshold identiies the complexity of the wireframe structure. Its
value varies from 0 to 180. If the polygon edges are under the threshold
value, the edges are removed. Thus, the larger the Crease Threshold value
is, the less complexity the model has (see Figure 12.9).
Line Width sets the thickness of the edge lines.
The Edge style drop-down list includes four options that work similar to the
options for the Face styles. However, these options are applied to model
edges only. These options include:
• Constant
Flat
