In-Depth Information
Photoshop provides a variety of render options presets that you can reach
from the 3D panel or the Render Settings dialog. The render presets include
a variety of predeined render settings. The default render setting is Default;
you can choose to display the edges or the vertices of the polygon by
choosing the Wireframe or Vertices render options. There are other render
options, such as the Depth Map, Ray Traced, and Paint Mask. You can also
change the parameters of these presets and create and save your own
custom render settings.
In this chapter, we cover the render settings in the 3D panel, as well as other
related options, such as the antialiasing and cross-section options.
3D Render Settings
When you select a 3D layer and open the 3D panel, the panel displays
properties associated with that layer (Figure 12.1). The Scene tab includes
information about the whole scene, including the layer render settings.
The irst render setting option is the Presets drop-down list. This menu
includes diferent predeined settings that you can apply to the 3D object
without any other settings or modiications. The render presets include the
following presets, which are illustrated in Figure 12.2:
• Bounding Box: Converts the model to a cube that represents the
outer boundaries of the object.
• Default: Default render setting; uses the solid style (as explained
later in this chapter).
• Depth Map: Shows the model as grayscale, with shades that vary
based on depth and distance from the viewing camera.
• Hidden Wireframe: Shows the wireframe that constructs the
option.
• Line Illustration: Shows the object as white outlines; the illed-in
space in the object is black.
• Normals: Displays the object based on its faces' direction or
normal direction (I explain more about normals later).
Paint Mask: Shows the paintable areas in the model and the areas
that will not be afected with the painting tools.
Shaded Illustration: Displays the model along with the black
wireframe that represents the object polygon faces.
Shaded Vertices: Displays only the vertices or the points that
construct the object.
Shaded Wireframe: Displays the object's wireframe shaded with
the same texture applied to the object.
Transparent Bounding Box Outline: Similar to the bouncing box,
but shows the faces of the outline cube with shaded colors.
Transparent Bounding Box: Similar to the previous preset, but
hides the outline and displays only the faces as transparent.
