In-Depth Information
• The Play Loop selector: In the bottom right of panel, you can specify how
many times the animation will loop.
• The navigation buttons: Let you play back and control the animation
preview.
• Tweens Animation Frames: This icon gives you the option to set the
number of frames between any two frames to create a smooth
animation. The more in-between frames there are, the smoother the
animation will be.
• Duplicate Selected Frames: When you select a frame or group of frames
using either CTRL (CMD on the Mac) or Shift, click this button to
duplicate the selected frames.
• Delete: With this icon, you can remove one or more frames from the
animation sequence.
In addition to the functions in the main panel, you can click the icon at the
top right in the Animation panel header to display the context menu
associated with the frame animation; this menu includes extra commands.
Following are descriptions of some of the important commands in this
context menu.
Reverse Frames
This command reverses the animation by reversing the animation sequence.
This command is useful when you would like to lip the animation sequence
without having to recreate it again.
Optimize Animation
The optimization process for animation is very important, especially when
you would like to play your animation on the web or mobile devices. It is a
best practice to optimize the animation to the lowest size possible to make
sure that the animation will work properly over low bandwidth. There are
many methods to optimize the animation in Photoshop; the Optimize
Animation command lets you reduce the size of the output animation
through two methods, which are already selected when you click the
Optimize Animation command to display the Optimize Animation
dialog box:
Bounding Box: Crops the unchanged areas in the animated frames.
Redundant Pixel Removal: Converts the unchanged pixels to
transparent.
Generally, the optimization process comes at the end of the project when
you inish the animation and the project is ready to export to the web or
mobile devices. In some cases, the optimization process is not required, such
as when you're creating high-quality video content or the most important
factor is the quality of the content, not the size.
