NTSC broadcasting standard, the animation speed is 29.97 fps; if the output
is for the PAL broadcasting standard, the animation speed is 25 fps. You can
also set a custom fps rate according to your output needs, such as for the
web, mobile devices, and so on.
The document duration and fps settings can be set in the Document
Settings dialog box, which is accessible via the Animation panel
context menu.
You can also change this value to display the frame number instead of the
timecode from the Animation panel's context menu > Animation Panel
Options dialog box > Timeline Units area. The correct choice of units
depends on your project and what indicator you would like to see while
working through animation. For example, when working with video
production, you may want to see the timecode instead of the frame number,
as your project may depend on the time of the animation. On the other
hand, when you create an animation for the web, you may work based on a
frame number limit, because the total number of frames afect the inal size
of the animation.
Layers
Layers are the most important area of the Animation panel, as it is where
we create and work with the animation. The layers include the objects in
the Photoshop layers as well as the animation for each object. The main
layer area in the timeline represents the duration of the object's visibility
on the stage. You can set this duration by dragging the start or the end of
the layer.
Each layer includes property sublayers that include the properties of the
object and can be animated through the timeline. The properties of
sublayers include the following:
The Position is where you can change the X and Y position of the object
on the stage. You can use it to move the object around the screen.
The Opacity allows you to change the opacity of the object and control
its transparency value. You can change the value of the layer opacity
from the Opacity slider in the Layer panel.
The Style lets you change the setting of the styles and efects applied to
the object through the Layer Style dialog box.
You can follow the same animation concept to create animation for 3D
object properties that appear in the Animation panel, such as:
3D Object Position: Animates the object in the 3D space, including
rotation, slide, pan, roll, and zoom.
3D Camera Position: Animates the camera that views the object,
including roll, walk, pan, and zoom.
