can use this type of light to make the object it naturally into its
environment.
In the following exercise, we will apply the image-based light to a sphere
and make it shine using the environment light around it:
1. Open the ile 3Dsphere.psd from the chapter's iles on the DVD. This ile
includes an image of a 3D sphere on a new layer.
2. Select the sphere layer, and in the 3D panel, from the New icon at the
bottom of the panel, choose Image-Based Light.

In the image source, load the image see_background.jpg.

Point Light
The Point light is another directed light source that can be used to direct
light to more speciic areas of the model, such as in the following exercise.
This exercise demonstrates one of the uses of the Point light—a lightbulb on
an opened topic:
1. Open the ile 3Dbulb.psd. This ile includes a scene with the basic Ininite
light applied to the models.
2. Select the 3D table model layer in the Layers panel.
3. In the Filter by Light section in the 3D panel, click the New Light icon and
choose Point Light.
4. Use the Drag the Light icon to the left of the light options to move the
Point light to the bulb, so that it appears as if the light is coming from
