Identifying the Paintable Areas
Due to the nature of the painting over the 3D model when using a
projection-based painting model, there are areas that cannot be reached by
the painting or drawing tool, and the human eye can be tricked in the third
dimension. However, you may need to identify the paintable areas in the
model. The paintable areas range between areas that got the optimal
painting chance and areas are reachable and unreachable areas. However,
there are two methods of viewing the paintable areas in the model:
The irst method is from the 3D menu through the Select Paintable Area
command. When you select this method, a selection appears around the
optimal areas for painting.
The second method is through displaying the paintable areas through the
Paint mask render setting presets. When you select the Paint Mask from the
Render Setting in the 3D panel, the 3D model appears in three colors. White
represents good paintable areas. Blue shows areas that are positioned or
scaled less than ideal for project-based painting. Red deines areas that are
not positioned optimally.
Control the Display of the Paintable Areas
When you paint on a 3D model, you may like to hide parts of the
model and reveal other parts to be able to have more control over your
painting areas and reach than a hidden part in the mode. Thus, Photoshop
