In-Depth Information
The 3D meshes have four main types; which one to use depends on the inal
shape that will be created out of the grayscale layer. The four types of the
meshes are:
• Plane: This option converts the grayscale layer to a plane with 3D
properties such as position and rotation in the 3D space.
• Two-sided plan: This plan creates two sides, each of the which includes
the same details of the grayscale layer.
• Cylinder: This option creates a cylinder that includes depth in its surface.
Sphere: This option creates a sphere shape and modiies the depth of the
surface based on the 2D grayscale layer color variation.
The following examples show you how to use the grayscale layer to create
3D shapes without the need to use any 3D tool, inside or outside Photoshop.
In the irst example, we will create a curtain based on a layer with a gray
gradient and convert this gradient to a depth with the curtain style.
