3.3.4 Working with User-Defined Tables
one element of the connection process that is specific to relational connections is the abil-
ity to create user-defined tables. The user-defined table is useful in situations where you
need an additional view created in the data source and are waiting for the database owner
to complete the process. They also are useful when you need to create data source joins for
a hierarchical object. Essentially, any SQL (Structured Query Language) query that can be
issued directly against a source can be used to define a table directly within Studio. This
table (and columns) then can be used to create custom member nodes and hierarchy objects.
