Although this query method does not return all member properties, the properties it

ATTRIBUTES
The AttrIButES property returns a tab-separated list of attribute names for the
member. Additionally, there are at least three undocumented properties that you can
use with this method. The DImtyPES and StAtuSES properties, though undocu-
mented, are in the code sample provided in the documentation. In order to support
outlines with duplicate members, the mBrID property was also added.
We have discussed a lot in this section and, as you can see, there are a number of ways
to get Essbase member information. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages,
but with this knowledge you will know the options available to you when you need to
access member information with the APIs.
8.9 sum m ary
We have explored a number of concepts in this chapter, but we have just touched on a
small number of the numerous classes in the Essbase Java API. These classes provide an
almost unlimited amount of functionality that you can use to create your own custom
applications. hopefully, you can use the Java API to save yourself time and to save your
compa ny money.
