performing a full introspection on the sample model (specifying the desired tables up
front) creates FigureĀ 3.13's mini-schema, as well as FigureĀ 3.14's sample hierarchies.
In this example, while the mini-schema is reasonable, the resultant hierarchies are (to
say the least) silly. It is easy enough to resolve issues in hierarchies in a source as simple
as the Sample.Basic sample (provided with Studio). The column names are explicit and
the data is contrived for Essbase modeling. In a real world system, however, with realis-
tic complexity, it is not likely to be as simple.
In short, use introspection for quick modeling and exploration. It provides some level
of automated inspection into data relationships. however, it does not always provide
