There's an important lesson in this story. It confirms our intuitions that small changes to
Gaia's physiology can bring about dramatic unexpected changes, which is not surprising
given that Gaia consists of innumerable interlinked linear and non-linear relationships.
And there's a warning. By adding greenhouse gases into the atmosphere we could well
trigger similarly sudden and dramatic changes—across the globe.
