What Is Android Wear?
Google officially announced in March 2014 that they were branching out into the world of
wearables with the first version of a revised Android operating system especially designed
for wearables. A few months later during the I/O event, Google launched two devices
running Android Wear, such as the Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch. This was the first
step toward a new Android device called Android Wear.
Android Wear is the Google API for smart watches, Google Glass, and other wearable
devices. Basically the Android Wear device communicates with any Android smartphone or
tablet to get information to be shown on its screen.
Android Wear launch devices include:
Motorola Moto 360
LG G Watch
Samsung Gear Live
